You may have been betting on the World Cup matches or even placing a few well thought out bets and wagers on the Wimbledon tennis tournament, however there is another major sporting event that you may fancy betting on and that is of course the Tour de France
It has just been announced that Chris Froome is going to be riding in that event, and that has brought life back to the betting markets and many punters are laying into the odds on offer, so much so you are going to find he is the rock solid 13/8 favourite to win.
Based on his form he is a good bet however even though his win odds are not that huge, but I would advise you to shop around for as different betting sites will be taking in different volumes of cash on him winning there could be some sites offering slightly better odds.
There is of course no shortage of other riders that could in this event, and below you will find an overview of each of those riders that have the form to win this race and the odds you can currently secure on each of them too!
Mikel Landa Could Win This Race
There are of course more than enough riders that are taking part in this race and if you are prepared to look a little further afield for the winner as opposed to lumping on the favourite there is plenty of value waiting to be mopped up.
Two riders that do have the raw talent to win this event are of course Richie Porte who is 4/1 and Nairo Quintana at 7/1 but with odds of 9/1 about him I do like the chances of Mikel Landa who should put in a very good display of riding.
Huge Odds on Romain Bardet Winning
Romain Bardet may not be the first rider you think of that could possibly win this year’s running of the Tour de France, but there is certainly a lot to like about his riding style, so much so I will be having a little each-way bet on him making one of the top positions in the event as his odds are too high to miss out on at 16/1!
Two other possibilities at the exact same odds are Primoz Roglic and Adam Yates and it is very true and fair to say that even though they may not have the skills needed to win a race of this nature they sure do posses the skills to make it to one of the top positions so may be worth a small each-way bet on too!
For anybody wishing to go for high odds rather than backing the favourite to win there are more than enough riders to pick and choose from such as Geraint Thomas and Jakob Fuglsang both currently trading at or around the 20/1 mark, or for a slightly riskier bet consider betting on the likes of Rigoberto Uran or Alejandro Valverde as you can bag odds of 25/1 on them both!
