It won’t be very long now until we know just which darts player has been crowned the champion of the World Matchplay darts tournament of 2018, and if the current outright winner betting markets over at Betfred are anything to go by, it does look like Gary Anderson is likely to be that champion!
His current win odds are 4/5 which do I feel accurately represent his overall chances of coming out on top and winning this event this year. However, with Peter Wright also playing right up to his very best form he could come out on top, and if you do fancy his chances of doing so his outright win odds are currently 10/30.
In fact, I have also been impressed with the way that both Jeffrey De Zwaan and Mensur Suljovic have been playing all the way through this tournament, and it would be too much of a surprise if either of those two players did win this year’s World Match play darts tournament and for reference their win odds are currently 6/1 and 7/1 respectively.
There are of course two other players I have not yet mentioned and those two players do appear to have very little chance of winning, but as they are still in the tournament with some luck in playing they may just win, and if you do fancy their chances then you can back Whitlock at odds of 25/1 and secure odds of 33/1 on Webster winning at the Betfred betting site too!
Wright Should Beat Whitlock Tonight
It shouldn’t be too hard a task for Peter Wright to beat Simon Whitlock tonight, in fact that is the outcome that many punters are betting on, but due to the amount of cash being placed on Wright the best odd you are likely to find being offered on him winning are 1/3!
However, I do know that Simon Whitlock does have his fair share of fans and they will not be deserting him tonight, and with odds of 12/5 available on him beating Wright, his fans will be celebrating if he does win, much more so if they have placed a hefty bet on him doing so too!
Suljovic and De Zwaan Favourites to Win Their Matches
Mensur Suljovic is also expected to beat Darren Webster later on tonight, but that match could go either way of course, and betting site odds compilers are not taking too many risks with the odds they have chosen to award to each player to win that match for Suljovic is 4/11 and you can choose to bet on Webster right now and secure odds of 11/5 by doing so.
You won’t have long to wait to watch the Jeffrey De Zwaan v Gary Anderson match as it is scheduled to start tomorrow night, and if that is a match you fancy betting on too then be aware that De Zwaan is currently trading on most betting markets at around the 11/4 mark to win, and the favourite to win that match is of course Anderson at 2/7.
